Planning a visit to Shanghai’s South Bund Fabric Market? Save the destination before you travel: the market and Kelly’s current studio are different addresses. This guide is published by Kelly’s Tailor Shop to help you organize the visit and avoid booking a garment around an unconfirmed deadline.

The market has a new name

Shanghai’s official visitor website reported on 29 October 2026 that the renovated market is now called the South Bund Custom Tailoring Center (南外滩量身定制中心). Older maps may still use South Bund Fabric Market or 南外滩轻纺面料市场. The current official address remains 399 Lujiabang Road, Huangpu (黄浦区陆家浜路399号). Save the Chinese name and street number together rather than relying on an old storefront photograph.

Getting there and checking hours

The city’s January 2026 visitor guide lists Metro Line 4, Nanpu Bridge Station (南浦大桥站), Exit 3, with about a five-minute walk. Check current station signs and your map for the final approach; that estimate is not an accessibility assessment. For a taxi, show the Chinese address above.

The same guide lists market hours of 09:00–18:00 daily. Confirm the intended shop’s availability before traveling, especially for a fitting near closing time. These are published market hours, not a promise that every tailor is available throughout them.

Plan the order across several visits

Treat browsing, ordering, fitting and collection as separate steps. Before paying, put the following in your phone:

  • Shop name, exact unit and contact, plus a photo of the agreed fabric reference.
  • Garment details and written total: pieces, lining, buttons and agreed adjustments.
  • Fitting appointment, collection deadline and the time you leave Shanghai.
  • Deposit, balance and accepted payment method confirmed by the shop.

Bring the intended shirt and shoes to a suit fitting. Sit, walk and raise your arms; discuss discomfort before collection. Allow time for another adjustment rather than treating the first fitting as the final handover.

What the renovation does not guarantee

The October report describes upgraded facilities and faster-order and shipping services. Availability still needs confirmation with your chosen shop. Ask which garment can meet your dates, whether a fitting is included, and who handles delivery or later alterations. Get shipping charges, destination restrictions and follow-up arrangements in writing. A market-wide service announcement does not guarantee your individual order or Kelly’s turnaround.

Visiting Kelly’s studio instead

Jackets and suits displayed inside Kelly’s studio

Kelly’s current studio is at Floor 18, Beifang Gongye Dasha, 1228 Zhongshan South Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai, China. Take the elevator to floor 18. The Chinese destination is 上海市黄浦区中山南路1228号 北方工业大厦 18楼. Historical references to stall 167 do not give the current studio location. Studio hours are 09:30–18:00 daily; confirm your appointment directly.

At Kelly’s, suits start at ¥1,500 and shirts at ¥200. Normal turnaround is less than 7 days including fitting; suits can take as little as 3 days including fitting, subject to confirmation for the actual order. These are Kelly’s figures, not market-wide quotes.

Save a two-destination visit note

Keep one map pin for 399 Lujiabang Road and a separate one for Kelly’s studio. Send your references and travel dates before setting out, then confirm where the consultation and later fitting will happen. For garment preparation, use our first-visit checklist; see studio details and contact options.
