Start a short-trip tailoring plan with the time you can attend fittings, not the number of garments you hope to buy. Your arrival and departure dates are only the outer boundaries. Work, tours and onward travel can leave much less usable time inside them.
Write down your real availability
List arrival, departure, the event date if any, and the hours you can reach the studio. Avoid counting arrival day as a full working day if you land late. Give the tailor the actual visit window and explain which dates cannot move. Keep travel plans and confirmed appointments distinct in your notes.
Separate four stages
Create four lines: consultation and fabric choice; fitting; adjustments or another fitting; collection. Ask which stages require your presence and when each can happen. For example, plan the consultation early in your stay and collection before your final travel day; the actual schedule depends on your order.
Ask for confirmation before paying
Kelly’s normal turnaround is less than 7 days including fitting. Suits can be ready in as little as 3 days including fitting, but the schedule must be confirmed for the order. Ask what happens if the first fitting requires more work. Do not treat a minimum turnaround or someone else’s experience as a guarantee for your trip.
Decide what happens if collection will not fit
Kelly offers shipping within China and internationally, charged separately. Discuss destination, expected dispatch and delivery timing before choosing this option. Confirm how fitting and final approval will work if you leave before collection. Shipping solves transport, but does not by itself replace an agreed fitting process. If the plan is too tight, consider a later order instead of forcing an unconfirmed deadline.
Send a timeline rather than a rush request
I arrive on [date/time] and leave on [date/time]. I can visit at [available times]. I would like [items]. Can you confirm consultation, fitting, any adjustment visit and collection? If collection is not realistic, what fitting and shipping plan could we agree?
